$10,000 Painting Stolen From Innes Road Home

A work by Dutch artist Kees van Dongen was reported missing from a Scarsdale residence.

An Innes Road homeowner contacted Scarsdale patrol last Wednesday after she noted that a Kees van Dongen painting had been removed from her living room wall.

According to reports, the complainant last recalled seeing the painting, valued at $10,000, on Wednesday, Jan. 25.

In addition to theft, property damage was reportedly inflicted to an antique, marble-topped burl walnut sideboard server situated underneath the painting. The perpetrator, in an attempt to pry open the center lock to gain access to silverware, had broken the $10,000 piece of furniture's latch. The complainant was unaware whether any silverware had been removed from the server, as she was unable to open the main compartment.
