ID Thief Charges $4K To Stolen Card

A Scarsdale man was the latest victim in another case of identity theft.

The Popham Road resident reported to Scarsdale Police that he received a text message on Sept. 16 from United Chase Bank's fraud department. The text advised him that he had been the victim of a possible fraud, according to the police report.

An unknown person made three different purchases at an AT&T store in Hoboken, N.J., racking up $4,000 in charges, according to SPD.

The victim told SPD that three months ago, he had his ID stolen and had $1,200 in charges at the same store made to his account.

The fraud investigator at United Chase Bank is investigating the case, according to police.
