Police: Woman Forced to Fend off Dog

Scarsdale woman in her 60s told police she was attacked by a canine.

A Scarsdale woman told police she was forced to fend off a violent dog while taking her own pet for a walk on the morning of Dec. 20

The 60-year-old woman said she was out with her dog on Woods Lane when a neighbor's unleashed dog bounded at her -- she was forced to kick the dog to keep it at bay, she told police.

The woman also told authorities similar incidents had happened in the past, and she is concerned for her and her dog's safety.

A dangerous dog complaint has been filed.

If this is happening in a community like Scarsdale, then as a taxpayer I am irritated. Where are allRead More the taxes going if teachers are paying for their own classroom supplies? There has to be some degree of accountability regarding our tax dollars. We are the highest-taxed county in the nation and we can't afford notebooks and post-it notes? As a community member, I am not going to "lend a hand." I already do that with my tax dollars.
