Police: iPad Stolen From Car at Scarsdale High School

A man's gym bag, containing electronics, was taken from his car, according to police.

A Scarsdale man had over $600 worth of personal belongings swiped from his car last week, according to police.

Brandon Schmidt, a 29-year-old resident, had stowed a bag containing gym clothes and a $500 iPad in his 2006 Mazda parked at Scarsdale High School on Wednesday, Nov. 14, according to police reports.

When he returned to his vehicle at 7 p.m., the items were gone, police said.

Schmidt said he locked his doors, but police could not find evidence of forced entry.

No arrests have been made.

If this is happening in a community like Scarsdale, then as a taxpayer I am irritated. Where are allRead More the taxes going if teachers are paying for their own classroom supplies? There has to be some degree of accountability regarding our tax dollars. We are the highest-taxed county in the nation and we can't afford notebooks and post-it notes? As a community member, I am not going to "lend a hand." I already do that with my tax dollars.
