Police: Burglary Attempt on Carthage Road

Alarm was activated Friday evening while the house was unoccupied.

Editor's Note: The following report was provided by the Scarsdale Police Department:

The Scarsdale Police received a report of a burglar alarm activation at a Carthage Road residence at 8:54 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7.

Patrol Officers, who were specifically assigned to the area on burglary patrol responded and were on scene in 43 seconds. The officers observed that forced entry had been made and secured the perimeter.

Upon the arrival of additional Patrol Officers the interior was checked and unoccupied. An unsuccessful attempt was made to remove a safe, which was still inside the home.

There was no one home at the time of the burglary.

The scene was processed by the Scarsdale Police Department Detective Division and is an active investigation.

Anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the Carthage Road area between 8:30 and 9 p.m. is asked to call the Scarsdale Police at 914-722‐1200.
