Police Identify Wednesday's Tappan Zee Jumper

State Police identify yesterday's bridge jumper as a 24-year-old woman from New Britain, CT.

The story surrounding remains under investigation, but this morning police revealed the name of the jumper from the Tappan Zee Bridge. 

Anna Krasnowski, 24, of New Britain, CT jumped around 5 p.m. after pulling over her Nissan one-quarter-mile onto the northbound side of the bridge, reported State Police Investigator Joseph Becerra.

Onlookers, including one woman from Nyack who , could not come to Krasnowski's rescue soon enough.

"Before anyone could get out of their cars to pull her off the fence, she was over," witness Christina Place said. "Clearly she had an intent."

In the water, Nyack rescue divers were able to pull out the woman within 15 minutes of the mid-span jump, but by 5:40 p.m. at , Krasnowski was pronounced dead.

Becerra said the case is still under investigation and he could not reveal any more about Krasnowski. 

A Facebook page that appears to be hers, under the name "Ania (Anna) Krasnowski," lists her as attending Tunxis Community College in CT. The page was last updated several months ago and has only a photo of a sunset and/or sunrise.
