Police: Jewelry Thief Hits Brambach Road Home

Excerpts from the Scarsdale Police Log. The following information was supplied by the Scarsdale Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

This thief made off with some pricey jewels.

According to Scarsdale Police, a Brambach Road couple told SPD on October 1 that an unknown person swiped $5,100 in jewelry from their house.

The residents told police that they noticed a missing rear window screen from the kitchen window on September 26. The couple told SPD they did not notice, at the time, that anything was missing from the home, according to the police report.

SPD did investigate and noticed "a small tear at the bottom of the screen and apparent scuff marks at the interior window sill," the report states.

The alarm system was off at the time of the alleged burglary, the report states.

The thief got away with a gold heart locket, a gold chain, two charms and one earring out of a pair of amethyst stone earrings, according to the report.

Police photographed the remaining earring along with several jewelry boxes. Police are investigating.
