Police: Tax Return Scam Hits Scarsdale Man

A Rectory Road resident is the latest victim of the IRS Tax Return scam.
According to Scarsdale Police, the Scarsdale man reported the identity theft on October 16.
The resident's accountant had filed his tax returns on October 15, but they were returned. The IRS told him a return had been filed previously using his social security number, according to the SPD report.

The resident checked his credit report and activated a fraud alert.
