Police: Scarsdale Teen Hears Possible Break-In

Boy hears someone inside his house; police respond.

A 13-year-old Scarsdale resident living on Walworth Avenue told police he heard someone inside his house while playing XBOX home alone.

The boy said he heard footsteps in a nearby hallway at about 5:40 p.m. on Monday, November 12. When the teen turned on the hall lights, he heard someone run down the stairs and out the back door, according to police reports.

Police responded to the incident, and a family-friend waited with the teen until his parents returned home.

Both parents said no items appeared to have been swiped.

Police are treating the incident as a possible criminal trespass in the second degree, a misdemeanor. No arrests have been made.

If this is happening in a community like Scarsdale, then as a taxpayer I am irritated. Where are allRead More the taxes going if teachers are paying for their own classroom supplies? There has to be some degree of accountability regarding our tax dollars. We are the highest-taxed county in the nation and we can't afford notebooks and post-it notes? As a community member, I am not going to "lend a hand." I already do that with my tax dollars.
