Rabbi Accused of Impersonating Cop Hospitalized

A local Rabbi, accused of impersonating a cop by a Scarsdale man, has been hospitalized. Rabbi Alfredo Borodowski's attorney says his client has bipolar disorder. Because of his illness, the Rabbi is said to be receiving "intensive appropriate treatment and medication for bipolar disorder and has been hospitalized for much of the past several weeks.”

In the latest incident alleged cop impersonating incident, a 26-year-old Scarsdale man told the local newspaper that Borodowski flashed a badge and told the him to pull over when the two were driving on I-87 near the Yonkers-Bronx border. The Scarsdale man's passenger recorded the incident on video and turned it over to police. 

Borodowski, who is a Rabbi at Congregation Sulam Yaakov in Larchmont, has been accused of doing the same thing in the past. Earlier in June, a woman said Borodowski got mad at her for driving the posted speed limit in a school zone on Mamaroneck Avenue. She says the Rabbi yelled at her out his window and flashed a fake police badge. The woman called police who later arrested Borodowski for felony impersonation, according to WCBS.
