Scarsdale Man Arrested On Drug Charges

arrested a 24-year-old Scarsdale man on September 10 on several drug charges.

Police arrested Thomas R. Grimaldi on charges of DWAI, combined influence of drugs or alcohol; unlawful possession of marijuana; and criminal possession of a controlled substance-fifth, Ketamine 100 milligrams, according to SPD.

Police pulled the driver over at a safety checkpoint at Garth and Popham roads. After the vehicle was stopped "a strong odor of marijuana emanated from inside the vehicle," the SPD report stated.

"Police found a a small glass vial containing a white powdery substance which the defendant identified as ketamine," according to the report.

SPD also found a glass pipe with a small amount of a green, leafy substance, which tested positive for marijuana, according to the SPD report.

Grimaldi was released on personal recognizance and scheduled to appear in Scarsdale Village Court on Sept. 12.
