In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, while dealing with no power, one thief allegedly broke into a Scarsdale woman's home and stole $500 in cash.

According to the Scarsdale Police report, the burglar hit up the Walworth Avenue home on November 6.

The resident had left her home for a few hours and returned to find the sun room window broken, according to the report. She told police $500 in cash was missing from her son's bedroom and "items had been moved around."

Police investigated the scene and walked through the home, confirming that the sun room window was the burglar's entry and exit.

The home, along with the neighbors, all were out of power at the time of the break-in. Police said most neighbors were not home at the time of the burglary due to the storm outages.
