arrested a Yorktown Heights man after allegedly driving drunk and hitting a utility pole on Tuesday.
Police arrested Peter Soc of Yorktown Heights on charges of driving while intoxicated, a second offense, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Soc was driving a Grand Cherokee when he struck a pole on Oxford Road at 11:25 p.m. on April 24, according to a police report.
The driver sustained "abrasions at the top of his head," police said.
Soc told police the accident was a result of a deer running out in front of him and swerving to avoid it.
He told cops he had "three vodkas" at a friend's house before driving, according to the report, but did not consent to a blood alcohol test.
