Scarsdale Police Investigate ‘Disturbing’ Letters Sent to Local School Employee

At least two “disturbing and unwanted” letters have been sent to an employee of the Alcott Montessori School in Scarsdale in recent weeks, which appear to be similar to letters sent to other locations in the Westchester area.

The most recent letter was received at the school on Dec. 11. Details of the letter’s contents were not disclosed, but Scarsdale police said it was typed and came from an unknown person. The exact date of when the first letter was received was not disclosed.

Dobbs Ferry police are investigating disturbing letters reportedly sent to at least three females in the past couple of weeks. Those letters contained “vile” writings with a “sexual narrative.”

Such letters have circulated in the Westchester area for years, according to police. They ask that anyone who receives such correspondence, handle it as little as possible and turn it over to authorities as soon as possible.
