Police: Scarsdale Schools Receive Fake Checks

Fraudulent checks were cashed and money withdrawn from the Board of Education's account, according to SPD.

The Scarsdale Board of Education is the latest victim of a fraudulent, check-cashing scam.

The BOE told Scarsdale Police that four, fake checks using their Chase Bank account were written and cashed sometime between January 29 and February 4.

After reviewing the monthly Chase statement, the BOE noticed the checks and money missing and immediately called the Chase Bank Fraud Department, according to SPD.
