The Scarsdale Board of Education is the latest victim of a fraudulent, check-cashing scam.
The BOE told Scarsdale Police that four, fake checks using their Chase Bank account were written and cashed sometime between January 29 and February 4.
After reviewing the monthly Chase statement, the BOE noticed the checks and money missing and immediately called the Chase Bank Fraud Department, according to SPD.
The fake checks were made out to one vendor and the real checks were made out to different vendors, according to the police report.
Scarsdale Police did not release the total amount stolen from the board's account.
Both Chase Bank and the SPD are investigating the case.
