State Police: 7 Charged With DWI In Westchester During New Year's Eve Patrols

The following is from New York State Police. It does not indicate convictions.

Seven people were charged with drunken driving in Westchester County as a result of extra patrols and a sobriety checkpoint on New Year’s Eve, according to State Police.

Arrested in roving patrols were:

LOREDANA T. PELUSI, 50, of Yonkers. She was arrested for Felony DWI after being stopped on the Sprain Brook Parkway in the Town of Mount Pleasant. An investigation revealed PELUSI had a previous conviction for DWI within the last 10 years. PELUSI refused to submit to a chemical test. She was later released pending a hearing in the Town of Mount Pleasant Court on Jan. 5.

KEVIN C. KINGSTON, 41, of Pleasantville, was arrested for DWI after being stopped on the Taconic State Parkway in the Town of Mount Pleasant. KINGSTON refused to submit to a chemical test. He was later released pending a hearing in Town of Mount Pleasant Court on Jan. 12. 

MUSA DRESHAJ, 46, of the Bronx, was arrested for Aggravated DWI With a Child in the Vehicle, a felony. DRESHAJ was arrested after being stopped on the Sprain Brook Parkway in the Town of Greenburgh with two children - ages 14 and 8 - in the vehicle. DRESHAJ took a breath test that indicated he had a BAC of .12%. He was being held at the State Police barracks in Hawthorne awaiting arraignment in the Town of Greenburgh Court. The children were released to their mother.

MARGARET A. SOTO, 27, of Crompond, was arrested for DWI after running out of gas and having her vehicle become disabled in the roadway on the Bear Mountain Parkway in the City of Peekskill. SOTO took a breath test which indicated she had a BAC of .16%. SOTO was later released pending a hearing in City of Peekskill Court on Jan. 12.

JUAN A. PEREZ, 27, of the Bronx, was arrested for DWI after being involved in a property damage automobile accident on Gabriel Drive in the Town of Cortlandt.  PEREZ took a breath test which indicated he had a BAC of .13%. He was later released pending a hearing in the Town of Cortlandt Court on Jan. 9. 

JAMES P. GRANDE, 19, of Montrose, was arrested after being stopped for not wearing his seat belt while traveling on Washington Street in the City of Peekskill. GRANDE took a chemical breath test which indicated he had a BAC of .09%. GRANDE was later released pending a hearing in City of Peekskill Court on Jan. 12.

At a checkpoint from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. on the Taconic State Parkway at the ramp to ST-202 in the Town of Yorktown, State Police took the following action: 

SUSAN KESSLER, 56, of New York, NY, was arrested for DWI. KESSLER was arrested and processed without incident and later released pending a hearing in Town of Yorktown Court on Jan. 8. 

A 25-year-old man from New Rochelle was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, and issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Yorktown Court on Jan. 3.

Four other tickets were issued for Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.
