Brenyah asked the woman, who was on her way to find an iron for her prison uniform, to come back with her prison ID. On her way back, the female victim passed an officer’s lounge which contained a bathroom for corrections officers. Brenyah pulled her inside and stood her up against a radiator in the bathroom, briefly engaged in sexual intercourse and then engaged in oral sex, according to the D.A.'s office.

Frederick Brenyah was charged with felony rape in the case because it is unlawful in New York state for a corrections officer to engage in sexual contact with an inmate. His sentencing will take place  on July 10.

Assistant District Attorney Fredric I. Green, Chief of the Sex Crimes Bureau, and Assistant District Attorney Joyce Miller, also of the Sex Crimes Bureau, prosecuted the case.
