Two Men Charged in Rash of Thefts from Cars

Police: Stolen credit/debit cards used to make more than $3,000 in purchases.

Two men have been charged in connection with a rash of thefts from cars and using stolen credit and debit cards to make more than $3,000 worth of illicit purchases, according to Stony Point Police.

The arrests followed an investigation of incidents that took place from Dec. 2 to Dec. 6, when items were stolen from cars in Stony Point.

John McLaughlin, 19, of 1 Bedford Lane, Thiells, and Joshua White, 21, of 4 Van Houten St., Haverstraw, are both charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, petty larceny and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

They were arraigned in Stony Point Town Court and ordered held in the Rockland County Correctional Facility in New City pending a hearing in Stony Point.

I like the part where they are being held in the Rockland jail....maybe it will wake them up to the fact that they are really just common low level thieves...and maybe their families are so upset they can actually do something to stop this ....maybe.
