Update: Car Hit Pillar At Central Park Ave Pizza Hut

The Pizza Hut in the Midway Plaza was closed, but is back open for business.

On Thursday, a driver in the Midway Plaza

According to a Greenburgh Police report, the “operator of vehicle number one reports while travelling south through the Midway parking lot, the vehicle suddenly accelerated on its own, causing it to strike the support pillar in front of Pizza Hut."

Both Greenburgh Police and the Greenburgh building department responded to the Central Park Avenue incident.

"The driver was taken via Greenburgh Police ambulance to White Plains Hospital for minor injuries," the police report stated.

"Upon inspection, the building department decided to evacuate and close Pizza hut for the day," the reporte stated. "Damaged pillar was barricaded and taped off."

The building department returned to inspect the building on Friday, according to police.

On Saturday, the Pizza Hut was back open to customers.

If this is happening in a community like Scarsdale, then as a taxpayer I am irritated. Where are allRead More the taxes going if teachers are paying for their own classroom supplies? There has to be some degree of accountability regarding our tax dollars. We are the highest-taxed county in the nation and we can't afford notebooks and post-it notes? As a community member, I am not going to "lend a hand." I already do that with my tax dollars.
