World War II Plaque Defaced in Boniface Circle Park

A woman just going to observe the names of local heroes finds the memorial plaque vandalized.

In an effort to find the name of her father’s friend, a local woman went to the Boniface Circle park to visit the World War II memorial on July 30th.

While searching for the name, she noticed something scratched into one of the plaques. The words, “I see dead people,” along with a peace sign, heart and happy face.

Upon seeing the defacement, the woman reported her observation to officer Timothy Behrmann, who was conducting parking enforcement at the time, at 4:32 pm.  Behrmann went on to check all of the other plaques, but found no other damage. Due to insufficient evidence, the case has been closed.
