Bronx River Lane Closures Thursday

Northbound Bronx River Parkway lanes will be closed 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on November 15.

Drivers commuting down the Bronx River Parkway will want to make sure they prepare for some lane closures Thursday.

All travel lanes on the northbound Bronx River Parkway will close from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on November 15. This part of the BRP runs between Yonkers and Bronxville.

According to the Westchester County Department of Public Works and Transportation, the Paxton Avenue on and off ramps will be closed to drivers as well.

"These closures are necessary for milling and paving operations on the parkway," an announcement from the County states. "Delays are expected and motorists are advised to seek alternate routes."

Commuters seeking more information about the lane closures can call the Westchester County Department of Public Works and Transportation-Traffic Engineering Division at 914-995-2555.

If this is happening in a community like Scarsdale, then as a taxpayer I am irritated. Where are allRead More the taxes going if teachers are paying for their own classroom supplies? There has to be some degree of accountability regarding our tax dollars. We are the highest-taxed county in the nation and we can't afford notebooks and post-it notes? As a community member, I am not going to "lend a hand." I already do that with my tax dollars.
