Westchester's oldest parkway is under repair again—still—this time near the Cross County Parkway.
County officials advise motorists that that night lane closures are scheduled on the Bronx River Parkway in the vicinity of Exits 11E and 11W for the Cross County Parkway on Thursday and Friday nights this week.
- Two lanes of the southbound Bronx River Parkway in this vicinity will be closed on Thursday evening,March 20 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Two lanes of the northbound Bronx River Parkway in this vicinity will be closed on Friday evening, March 21 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

While one lane will remain open in each direction during this work, drivers should expect delays.

The parkway's woes were described in a recent piece by the Daily Voice.
"It's become somewhat scary to drive on," Frances Jones of Scarsdale told the Daily Voice. "The lanes are so tight, and with no shoulder, there's nowhere to go."
A spokeswoman for the county, Britta Vander Linden, gave these details:
The lane closures are part of the initial design stages of the rehabilitation of the northbound Bronx River Parkway ramp bridge over the Cross County Parkway westbound. To inspect the underside of this bridge, two lanes need to be closed in order for bucket trucks and lifts to be set up on the Bronx River Parkway so the engineers can examine the bridge. The $4.4 million capital project will include the following work on the 72 year-old bridge: mill and pave the asphalt approaches, remove & replace the approach slabs, re-point stone, repair concrete abutments and back walls, install new bridge joints, remove and replace the existing bridge deck, paint and repair steel and remove and replace rail and install illuminated warning signs.The work is being conducted at night to insure that impacts to the traveling public are minimized. While bridge carries approximately 8,000 cars per day, over 100,000 cars per day travel beneath the bridge. Construction is expected to occur in 2015.
