Bronx River Parkway: Lane Closure Feb. 1

Commuters in Scarsdale and Greenburgh should prepare for delays on Friday, Feb. 1, with a lane closure on the BRP from 10-3 p.m.

Commuters driving on the Bronx River Parkway in Scarsdale and Greenburgh should prep for a slow-down Friday.

The BRP will have the right lane northbound shut down between Harney Road Exit 10 and Crane Road Exit 12 on February 1. The closure, part of the Crane Road Bridge Replacement Project, will take place from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

The county is advising drivers to take alternate routes during this time and prepare for traffic.

"The lane closure is necessary for survey operations as part of the Crane Road Bridge Replacement Project on the Bronx River Parkway," Westchester County Department of Public Works and Transportation said in a statement.

"There may also be some momentary interruptions in the southbound direction. The project began last summer and will take three years to complete."

For additional information, contact Westchester County Department of Public Works and Transportation at 995-2555.

If this is happening in a community like Scarsdale, then as a taxpayer I am irritated. Where are allRead More the taxes going if teachers are paying for their own classroom supplies? There has to be some degree of accountability regarding our tax dollars. We are the highest-taxed county in the nation and we can't afford notebooks and post-it notes? As a community member, I am not going to "lend a hand." I already do that with my tax dollars.
