Scarsdale's Crane Road Bridge Construction Beginning By June 1

Construction will bring about reduced parking in the merchant's lot on East Parkway.

The following is an announcement from the Village Manager's Office:

Contractors for the County of Westchester are planning to commence the construction and replacement of the over the Metro North Railroad and Bronx River located alongside the Bronx River Parkway in the vicinity of Crane Road, by June 1. The $40M construction project will be completed in four stages over a 34 month period.

In order to construct the project as designed, the County acquired five parcels from the Village, both permanently and temporarily. One of the parcels includes the temporary use by the contractor of a portion of the Merchant’s Parking Lot on East Parkway for the staging of construction equipment and materials. The Village Board granted a temporary easement agreement to the County for this purpose. As a result, the Village will have roughly half the use of the Merchant’s Parking Lot starting May 31 until construction completion.
