Day 36 of Scarsdale Water Alert

Scarsdale officials are confirming that the Village is still under a Water Alert today. Wednesday marks day 36 of the Village being under the alert status.

On July 20, the Village had declared a Water Emergency. The situation was caused by a double water pump failure at the village’s main water pumping station.

The current Water Alert calls for mandatory restrictions for the watering of lawns. Mayor Steves is encouraging everyone who lives in the Village to go to scarsdale.com for details on the restrictions.

"Lawn watering is restricted to two days per week, and effective immediately in accordance with the schedule and map," said Scarsdale Assistant Village Manger John Goodwin. "These lawn watering restrictions will remain in effect for the balance of the summer and fall, unless otherwise determined by the superintendent of water."

Village officials say that any questions should be directed to the Water Department at 914-722-1138.
