Wednesday marks day number two of the Village of Scarsdale being under a Water Alert. The situation was caused by a double water pump failure at the village’s main water pumping station. The Water Alert calls for mandatory restrictions for the watering of lawns.
"Lawn watering is restricted to two days per week, and effective immediately in accordance with the schedule and map," said Scarsdale Assistant Village Manger John Goodwin. "These lawn watering restrictions will remain in effect for the balance of the summer and fall, unless otherwise determined by the superintendent of water."
Village officials say that any questions should be directed to the Water Department at 914-722-1138.
