The Procedure Committee oversees the CNC, which in turn, selects the candidates who run for mayor and the Board of Trustees.

"We are not controlled by the standard political parties that have a stranglehold on local governments in our surrounding towns," Brodsky and Eli Mattioli, Vice Chair, stated in a Letter to the Editor on Patch. "Quite frankly, the traditional labels of Democrat or Republican or others don't really mean much in Scarsdale politics."

The Scarsdale Procedure Committee runs a yearly election for Scarsdale voters to fill 10 open slots on the Citizen's Nominating Committee, the chairman said.

Every November, after the national or state elections, the Procedure Committee runs an election, with at least two candidates for each open position.
