Letter To The Editor: Greenburgh Resident Speaks Out About Frank's Nursery Proposal

The following is a letter to the editor submitted by Greenburgh resident Simon Cohen.

Some of you have been sceptical about my writing and some have seen it
for what it is, informative and true details about the proposed lease for 715 Dobbs Ferry Road in White Plains, the former

I believe that today, Paul Feiner, the Greenburgh Town Supervisor has done himself proud today.

Today, the property was completely cleared of the dense weeds and vegetation that has been growing for months in preparation for tomorrows meeting. In addition a sign was erected, a sign that can barely be seen until right upon it, to announce a meeting one day later, great job Paul.

My bigger point is really a question, who paid for this? Who paid for the clean up? Who paid for the sign? Who paid for the sign that gives people that pass it "ONE" days notice.

Why was a single dime spent on this when there is a perfect town hall to meet in? A comfortable Hall. An air-conditioned room. A room that is available whatever the weather.

And if this all wasn't bad enough, Paul Feiner, our Town Supervisor, sent out an email, after office hours today, he mentions many things but leaves out even more.

He tells you the Taxpayer and the community what he wants you to hear.

The following are direct quotes from today's email from Paul Feiner. "they have agreed to pay $100,000 for the cleanup".

Fact - the lease states that Game On will pay $75,000 towards the
clean up. They get that back if they pull out.

"Game On 365 has agreed to pay for the Phase II environmental study.  If any remediation is required, Game On 365 will spend up to $250,000 to clean up the site without the Town incurring any out of pocket expense.

Fact - The $250,00 includes the first $75,000.

Fact - From the additional $175,000, Game On will be
"reimbursed" in rent credits.

I have raised just a couple of points here, everything I have written is
either a direct quote from Paul's email today or directly from the lease
that is available to everyone on line.

So please, tell me who you think is lying? Who is trying to hide the
information? Do I have to go on? There is so much more to tell.

COME OUT TOMORROW AND BE HEARD. COME OUT TOMORROW AND SHOW YOUR SUPPORT TO THIS OUTRAGEOUS MISCARRIAGE OF TOWN BOARD AND THE SUPERVISORS BEHAVIOR.

Please feel free to share you comments with me but more importantly, to
Supervisor Feiner. Do copy me though.

Thank you for reading
Simon Cohen

THE AREA WHICH WAS FRANKS NURSERY WOULD HAVE BEEN CLEARED AND CLEANED BY ANY BUYER. I DON'T SEE THE GREAT JOB HERE. AS A GREENBURGH RESIDENT I STILL WANT TO KNOW WHY WE DID NOT ACCEPT A BUYER WILLING TO PAY 1.5 MILLION PLUS TAXES PLUS "CLEAN-UP" ? I WONDER IF THERE IS A PERSONAL REASON TO ACCEPT THIS LEASE?? JUST ASKING!!!
