Scarsdale Adult School Offers Course on Workings of Federal Reserve

Scarsdale resident Edmund H. Mantell will teach a two-part course about how the United States Federal Reserve works.

With the controversies surrounding the upcoming appointment of a new Chairperson, the Federal Reserve has been a hot topic in the news. Scarsdale resident, Edmund H. Mantell, Ph.D., Professor of Finance and Economics at Pace University’s Lubin School of Business, will shed light on the subject in “Understanding the Federal Reserve” a new two-part Tuesday evening lecture.

With the assistance of PowerPoint images, Mantell will incorporate a brief history of the Federal Reserve and expound on the significance of the roles of politics and the Chairperson in setting economic policy.

Written material will be distributed. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions. Class meets at Scarsdale High School, 1057 White Plains Road, from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. starting Nov. 12, 2013; tuition is $40. Register at www.ScarsdaleAdultSchool.org.
