Scarsdale Schools, BOT Meetings Tonight

Tonight, there will be three meetings in Scarsdale and Edgemont. The Scarsdale Board of Education and Village Board of trustees will meet, along with the Edgemont Board of Education.

Tonight is another busy, fall evening for Scarsdale and Edgemont residents. The Scarsdale Village Board of Trustees and the Scarsdale Board of Education are meeting tonight (Oct. 9) along with the Edgemont Board of Education.

The Scarsdale BOE meeting starts at 6:30 p.m., with the board's annual visit to the Edgewood Elementary School. At 7:15 p.m., the board is meeting with parents and residents of the Edgewood neighborhood. Lastly, the BOE is holding a regular, public, business meeting at 8:00 p.m. in the Edgewood School's multipurpose room.

On tap for the BOE's regular meeting is tenure eligibility announcements and an education report from Dr. Michael McGill, Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Joan Weber, Assistant Superintendent for Personnel and Administrative Services and Lynne Shain, Assistant Superintendent for Instruction on the state regulations and the Scarsdale Professional Performance Evaluation Plan.

The Scarsdale Village Board of Trustees is meeting tonight at 8:00 p.m. in Village Hall. On the tap for tonight is acceptance of a NYSDOT snow/ice agreement for 2013-2014; an amendment to the professional services agreement for the South Fox Meadow Stormwater Improvement Project; accept a $3,374.99 gift from Robert and Wendy Zohn to install a LED smart TV in the lobby of Police Headquarters; and authorize an agreement with South East Consortium of Special Services. The municipal agreement with the non-profit and several Westchester County towns provides services to youths and adults with special needs.

Also, the Edgemont School District Board of Education is holding a regular, public meeting tonight at 8:00 p.m. at Edgemont Jr./Sr. High School. The agenda includes recognition of the 2013 National Merit Semi-finalists and the students in the National Merit Scholarship program; acceptance of $5,650 in gifts from Edgemont PTSA; acceptance of $9,375 from the Edgemont PTA for K-6 Brass and Percussion Consultants; a superintendent's report, which will include an overview of the role of Director of K-12 Curriculum and Instructional Technology; staff appointments and resignations; and the approval of two new student clubs at the Jr./Sr. High School.
