Scarsdale Water Emergency Downgraded to an Alert

Scarsdale officials say that the village's Water Emergency has been downgraded. The Village is now under a Water Alert. A Water Emergency had been put into place on Saturday. The situation was caused by a double water pump failure at the village’s main water pumping station.

Now that the emergency has been downgraded, all of the Water Emergency restrictions have been lifted, except for lawn watering. The Water Alert maintains mandatory restrictions for the watering of lawns.

"Lawn watering is restricted to two days per week, and effective immediately in accordance with the schedule and map," said Scarsdale Assistant Village Manger John Goodwin. "These lawn watering restrictions will remain in effect for the balance of the summer and fall, unless otherwise determined by the superintendent of water."
