Traffic Advisory: Route 119 Repaving Begins Monday

Despite initial plans to begin in August, the State DOT will begin weeknight roadwork on Route 119 from Tarrytown to White Plains on September 10 through mid-November.

The following is a NY DOT advisory:

Motorists are advised that the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) will be conducting alternating lane closures on Route 119 between Carrollwood Drive in Tarrytown and Aqueduct Road in White Plains for paving activities.

Weather permitting, the closures will occur from Monday, September 10 through mid-November, on weeknights between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Motorists are asked to use caution when traveling through the work area and pay particular attention to all traffic control devices, including work zone signs and flaggers.

Travelers are also reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of the driver’s license.
