Weather Advisories, Snow, Blankets Our Area

The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning, Coastal Flood Warning and Winter Weather Advisory through Thursday morning.

The thought of having school cancelled twice in two weeks, once for a Hurricane and once for a snow storm is baffling even for meteorologists, but that very scenario may soon play out as a Nor'easter is blanketing Bronxville-Eastchester with snow and wind.

Here are the current advisories for our area issued by the National Weather Service:

  • Winter Weather Advisory until 6 a.m on Thursday Nov. 8 with accumulations expected to be between 2-4 inches of snow.
  • High Wind Warning until 4 a.m. on Thursday Nov. 8 with winds of 25-35mph with gusts up to 60mph.
  • Coastal Flood Warning until 7 a.m. on Thursday Nov. 8.

The Village of Bronxville put out a statement today regarding the weather, stating that, "winds of this magnitude, coupled with areas that receive accumulating snowfall may result in power outages becoming likely in Bronxville."

Have already received reports that the Hutchinson River Parkway is a "parking lot" right now with cars. Very dangerous conditions out there! I-287 was also jammed and slippery at last check.

Be Aware, ALL area highways experiencing slow traffic. Bronx River Parkway is slow from the Bronx border north past the Sprain Pkwy. The Sprain Pkwy is slow in both directions past I-287.
