Back To School: Edgemont High School Upcoming Events

Here are some key dates to know for parents and students for the 2012-2013 school year:

New Student Orientation will be held on September 4.

First Day of School: Schools open for Grades K-12 on September 5.

GO Spirit Week: During the days leading up to the homecoming football game and pep rally students dress up according to themes to show school spirit. This year spirit week will be held on September 10-14.

E nights: This year E nights will be on September 10-15.

Fall Drama Auditions: September 11-12.

Back to School Night: For Grades 7-11 will be held at Edgemont High School on September 20 at 7 p.m.

Student Activities Fair: Students can learn about the various clubs and organizations at Edgemont High School at the fair on September 25.

For Juniors: SAT/ACT Tests

One major component of junior year is SAT/ACT tests. Juniors often prepare for these tests as soon as they get back to school. Don’t forget to register on time!

• November 3 – Register by October 4

• September 8 – Register August 17
• October 27 – Register September 21

For Seniors:

Senior Road Painting: During this annual tradition, which will take place on September 2, seniors decorate the student parking lot with tags, initials, club or sport team names.

Common Application Release Date: With application season right around the corner, many seniors spend the last few weeks before school starts working on or planning components of their applications, especially their common app. Preview versions of the 2012-13 First-Year Applications are now available online at commonapp.org. The 2012-13 Common App Online will launch August 1.

SAT/ACT Tests: Some seniors choose to retake their SAT/ACT in the first few months of senior year, a few months before they apply to college.
