Countdown To Scarsdale High's Graduation Begins

Scarsdale High School's graduation is being held on June 22.

It is finally time for the to put on their caps and gowns. The 95th commencement ceremony will take place on June 22 at 10:00 a.m.

“Although it’s hard to believe that it’s my turn to graduate, I am excited to stand with my classmates of the past 13 years, all dressed in matching maroon gowns and receive our diplomas,” Senior Jessica Schwartz said. 

Co-principals Fred Goldberg and Kelley Hamm, as well as President of the Board of Education Jill Spieler, will address the senior class. Class advisers Lauren Meyer and Eric Rauschenbach and Senior Class Vice President Ben Newman and Class President Alex Altieri will also speak to the soon-to-be grads.

Following the speeches, students will be awarded their diplomas and Superintendent Michael McGill will give the final address.

Graduation rehearsal and a senior breakfast will take place the day before, on June 21.

Many seniors are looking forward to graduating from Scarsdale High School.

Senior Michael Lu is most looking forward to graduation as “a rite of passage,” he said. “It's the culmination of our high school and the Scarsdale experience, so I think it's nice to have it as closure and a testament to our achievements."

“Graduation is also an experience that the entire senior class gets to share," Lu said, "and I'm sure we will remember it for the rest of our lives.”
