UPDATED: Scarsdale, Edgemont Schools Dismissing Early Friday

The Edgemont school superintendent issued an announcement Thursday along with Scarsdale schools. Stay tuned for updates.

Due to Friday's snow storm, the Edgemont Public Schools are dismissing early, at 11:05 a.m. Friday, February 8.

Here is the Thursday announcement from Superintendent Nancy Taddiken:

I am making this announcement today in order to give parents and guardians time to make arrangements for an 11:05 A.M. pick-up and afternoon childcare, if needed.

If we are able to hold classes tomorrow, even for a portion of the school day, we will not need to lose yet another day during the Passover/Easter recess.  (Due to Hurricane Sandy, schools will need to be open on Monday, March 25, 2013 and on Monday, April 1, 2013, both of which were originally scheduled to be holidays.)

The Scarsdale Public Schools are also dismissing early Friday. According to the school's announcement, all Scarsdale Public Schools "will have an early dismissal due to weather. There will be NO out-of-district transportation."
