Spring Learning with Rabbi Panken and Rabbi Katzew at WRT

Rabbi Jan Katzew, Ph.D., and Rabbi Aaron Panken, Ph.D., will be guest speakers at Westchester Reform Temple (WRT) on six Wednesdays this spring, April 18 and 25, May 2, 9, 16 and 23 at 7:30 p.m., in a program“From Redemption to Revelation: An Exploration of the Journey from Pesach to Shavuot.” The series will examine how Jewish tradition defines the period between Passover and Shavuot. During this seven-week period, Jews enumerate the time from the celebration of redemption to the moment of revelation at Mount Sinai, and remember the challenging journey their ancestors faced as they walked through the desert to reach their sacred encounter with God. Texts for the series will be available in Hebrew and English, and the public is welcome to attend any one or all sessions. No prior experience with Hebrew is required. Rabbi Jan Katzew, Ph.D., serves as Director of Lifelong Learning at the Union for Reform Judaism. Rabbi Aaron Panken, Ph.D., teaches Rabbinic and Second Temple Literature at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in New York City. This event is free and open to the public For more information: call the Temple at 914-723-7727, email office@wrtemple.org, or visit www.wrtemple.org.
