Israeli Space Project to Make Presentation at Hartsdale School May 28

SpaceIL, a nonprofit organization aiming to land the first Israeli spacecraft on the moon and a leading contestant in the prestigious Google Lunar X Prize (GLXP) competition, will make its Westchester debut on Wednesday, May 28 at Westchester Day School in Mamaroneck and Solomon Schechter School of Westchester in Hartsdale, where SpaceIL will present its mission and overall objectives to various grade school level students through several presentations throughout the day.

Through its mission, SpaceIL aspires to create a new "Apollo effect" by landing the first Israeli spacecraft on the Moon, hoping to inspire the next generation to think differently about science, technology, engineering and math.  SpaceIL’s vision is to inspire Israeli children to be scientists and engineers and to engage Jewish children around the world to connect with Israel in new and exciting ways. 

“By creating real-time, exciting examples of science innovation, we look to inspire kids to see themselves as part of science in the future, and thus pursue educations in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM),” said Kfir Damari, co-founder of SpaceIL. “For SpaceIL, we are looking to educate students all across the globe about our mission, which is why we are eager to make our Westchester debut at both the Westchester Day School and the Solomon Schechter School of Westchester.”

The SpaceIL presentations will take place on Wednesday, May 28 starting at 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.at the Westchester Day School, 856 Orienta Avenue, Mamaroneck, NY and then at 2:30 p.m. for the Solomon Schechter School of Westchester, 555 West Hartsdale Avenue, Hartsdale, NY.  For additional information or to RSVP for either school event, please contact scott@trylonsmr.com
