Last Chance Scarsdale: Computer Classes

The following is from the Scarsdale Adult School:

Computer courses for beginners and advanced technology users at the Scarsdale Adult School provide instruction on how to be more productive, with many classes beginning the first week of March. Starting on Monday, March 4, from 4 to 5:30 p.m., Cory Merchant returns to teach a series of three courses on the Google suite of applications. In “The Google Suite – WOW!” students will learn to use Google Drive (formerly Google Docs), Calendar, Maps, Picasa, and Gmail, which are all free applications. Tuition is $105.

For those seeking knowledge on Microsoft Office software, Paul Spindel will lead “Workplace Computer Skills,” an eight-session $275 class on Monday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. with a focus on Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Susan Kim also will be back to teach several different two-session $70 classes on Tuesday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m., with each course devoted to a different Microsoft software program. The first will be “Basic PowerPoint II,” which starts on March 5. Later in the semester, she will cover more advanced PowerPoint as well as Word and Excel for different levels.

Barbara Toledo, the database manager for the Scarsdale School District, joins SAS for the first time to lead “An Introduction to Microsoft Access,” a five-session $175 course that meets Thursday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. at Scarsdale High School starting March 7. 

Also getting started during the first week of the semester, Lilli Weisz, a productivity consultant, will introduce students to Evernote through a Tuesday evening two-session $70 course from 7 to 9 pm. beginning March 5 or a single session Friday daytime course on March 8 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Westchester Reform Temple.
