Scarsdale High's Basketball Tournament Tonight

The Maroon & White Kari Pizzitola Holiday Basketball Tournament continues through Saturday, December 1.

The annual Maroon & White Kari Pizzitola Holiday Basketball tournament continues tonight and wraps up on Saturday, December 1 at Scarsdale High School.

Tonight, November 30, the Scarsdale boys play at 6:00 p.m., and the Scarsdale girls play at 8:00 p.m. The playoff games will be held on Saturday, December 1 at 2:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

In 2009, the Maroon & White renamed the tournament The Maroon & White Kari Pizzitola Holiday Basketball Tournament to honor Kari Pizzitola–who died in October 2008 at the age of 52 after a battle with breast cancer. Pizzitola, with her two boys, Brian (class of 2003) and Mikey (class of 2006) loved Scarsdale athletics.

She was a dedicated supporter and hard worker and had served in many roles including tournament chair and Maroon & White president. This year, in honor of Kari Pizzitola, free Go Raiders rally towels will be given to the first 100 Scarsdale fans on Friday and Saturday. All fans will receive free wristbands.

Friday night is Scarsdale Raiders Night with the Scarsdale girls’ and boys’ teams playing. Friday night halftime entertainment will feature the Scarsdale Fifth Grade Boys Tri-County Basketball League and the Scarsdale cheerleaders. During halftime of the two Saturday night games, students and teachers/coaches will compete in a basketball shooting contest.

There will be a raffle with great prizes, including an Apple iphone5, an Apple ipad and much more. Refreshments and Hebrew National hot dogs will be available for purchase. More details can be found at http://www.maroonandwhite.org/.
