New Rochelle is one of 11 Hudson Valley school districts to change superintendents this year, according to a report in The Journal News.

The high turnover rate could show how difficult the job has become in recent years, due in part to the increased number of reforms thrust upon administrators, writes reporters Randi Weiner and Gary Stern.

"My concern is that the so-called reforms are discouraging people from becoming administrators — even educators," South Orangetown school board President Rosemary Pitruzzella told The Journal News. "I do believe there are qualified people out there, but it would appear to me that the demand for superintendents may soon exceed the supply."

In New Rochelle, Richard Organisciak  who retired in the fall was recently replaced by Brian Osborne of New Jersey.

Additionally, Scarsdale recently selected Dr. Thomas Hagerman as it's new superintendent.
