Scarsdale: Giving Thanks This Thanksgiving

The students at the Greenacres School in Scarsdale posted what they are thankful for this holiday season. What are you thankful for?

This Thanksgiving, students throughout Scarsdale are giving thanks for all that they have. From baby brothers to food, a home to live in to teachers, these students are grateful and posted their thanks on posters displayed in the hallways at the Greenacres School.

After a difficult few weeks, enduring Hurricane Sandy, outages and a Nor'easter, Thanksgiving is upon us and many are still recovering and beginning to rebuild.

If this is happening in a community like Scarsdale, then as a taxpayer I am irritated. Where are allRead More the taxes going if teachers are paying for their own classroom supplies? There has to be some degree of accountability regarding our tax dollars. We are the highest-taxed county in the nation and we can't afford notebooks and post-it notes? As a community member, I am not going to "lend a hand." I already do that with my tax dollars.
