Swap, Share or Donate Back To School Gear On Patch

Do your fast-growing kids need new stuff this year? Find out if any other Patch reader has something to swap, share or donate.

Extra-curricular activities are a great way to help kids find out what they like and where they shine. But the equipment, uniform requirements and other supplies children need to try out a new activity are not cheap. Plus, it can be time consuming to shop for everything on those lists.

So instead of visiting every dance wear store in Westchester for that size small sleeveless leotard, or coughing up $40 for a new pair of cleats that will last one season, see if your neighbors on Scarsdale Patch have something to share, swap or donate.

Just post what you need or what you want to get rid of in the comments and maybe you'll find someone who can help.

Good luck with back to school shopping.

Remember, please use Patch announcements and events to let us know how your kids are doing in their extra-curricular activities. Quickly and easily post sports scores, competition rankings, concert details, art shows and anything else you'd like to announce on Patch. And please feel free to share photos as well. Thank you for sharing!

If this is happening in a community like Scarsdale, then as a taxpayer I am irritated. Where are allRead More the taxes going if teachers are paying for their own classroom supplies? There has to be some degree of accountability regarding our tax dollars. We are the highest-taxed county in the nation and we can't afford notebooks and post-it notes? As a community member, I am not going to "lend a hand." I already do that with my tax dollars.
