Winter break is quickly approaching, Scarsdale. The students and teachers are getting excited for some time off. But for parents, winter break means finding ways to keep the children entertained.
No plans yet for the kiddos? It is not too late to register for programs here in Scarsdale. Be sure to check out the Scarsdale Recreation Department's offerings to keep the tots, tykes and teens busy and active during the February school recess.
Below is information from the Scarsdale Recreation Department:
Basketball Camp - Winter Break Joel Katz, Freshmen Boys Basketball Head Coach and staff, in conjunction with the Scarsdale Recreation Department, will be conducting a three-day camp during the upcoming school winter recess. Emphasis will be placed on fundamental skills including passing, dribbling, rebounding, shooting and defensive positioning. Scrimmage sessions will take place each day stressing team offense, defense and sportsmanship.
For Boys and Girls - Grade 2 to Grade 8
February 19 to 21 (Tues, Wed, Thurs)
12:00 to 2:30 PM
Fee = $75
Mad Science Mini Camps - Winter Break Step into the shoes of a detective and uncover the science involved in evidence gathering and analysis. You will probe the science of tracking as you stamp out a scenario on your very own case cards and more. This camp is full of cool, take-home projects that will bring out the secret agent in you! Each day will include awesome hands on experiments and take home items as well as snack, lunch and game breaks. (Please bring your own lunch. Lunch hour is 12-1PM and supervised by Mad Science.)
Multi-Sports Camp for Winter Break The Scarsdale Recreation Department and Backyard Sports will hold a four-day, multi-sports camp during the vacation break.
Multi-Sports Tots Camp for Winter Break The Scarsdale Recreation Department and Backyard Sports will hold a four day multi-sports camp during the vacation break. For ages 3-5 years.
Weinberg Nature Center Camp Winter Detectives camp will run from Monday, February 18 through Friday, February 22 from 10:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
