Bronx River Parkway Closed Sunday for Running Event

Motorists are urged to avoid a section of the Bronx River Parkway - in both directions - between White Plains and Yonkers Sunday, Oct. 13, because it will be closed temporarily for the ninth annual Westchester Medical Center Running Festival.

Both the northbound and southbound sides - all lanes - of the Bronx River Parkway between the Westchester County Center (Exit 22) in White Plains and the Sprain Brook Parkway in Yonkers will be closed Sunday, Oct. 13, for the ninth annual Westchester Medical Center Running Festival, officials announced.

All the lanes in both directions will be closed from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and motorists are urged to use alternate routes to avoid delays. Among the alternative routes that will be available are the Sprain Brook Parkway, Central Park Avenue and Route 22.

The annual half-marathon, where participants travel in a loop through the scenic Bronx River Parkway, attracts thousands of runners, walkers and spectators.
