Scarsdale Recreation: Keep The Kids Busy This August

Sign up for a post-camp program with Scarsdale Recreation today.

For parents looking for something for the kids to do during the final weeks of summer, the is offering a variety of programs to keep the kids busy. From sports to film-making to nature programs, there is an activity to keep every youngster occupied during the month of August.

Summer Speed & Strength Training
August 6-17 *BEGINS MONDAY!*
Grades 7-11
Agility, Strength and Conditioning program conducted by Andy Verboys.

Multi-Sports Camp
August 6-9; August 20-13 *BEGINS MONDAY!*
Ages 5-13
Experience over 10 different sports from around the world with US Sports Institute.

Sports Squirts Camp
August 6-9; August 20-23 *BEGINS MONDAY!*
Ages 3-5
Introduction to Soccer, T-Ball, LAX, Tennis, etc. by US Sports Institute.

Play Ball Group Baseball & Softball Camp
August 13-16
Grades 1-6
Designed to teach fundamental skills / games.  Conducted by Play Ball Group.

Summit Soccer Camp
August 20-24; 27-31
Ages 4-14
Summit Soccer Camps place an emphasis on developing skills, having fun, and forming a love for the game.  Session I runs from August 20 - 24.  Session II runs from August 27 - 31.

Shining Stars
August 6-10 *BEGINS MONDAY!*
Grades 1-5
Unlock your imagination and and creativity! Each day partake in a different exploration.
We will create the party of the summer.

Filmmaking Camp
August 13-17
Ages 11-15
This Filmmakers Ink program is for those that have an interest in and or passion for film, and would like to learn how to consistently make good movies.

Weinberg Nature Center Nature Camp
August 13-17
Ages 4-10
A different theme every day!  Nature hikes, live animals, "kooky science" experiments, games, & more!

Summer Stage
August 13-15
Grades 2-8
'Summer Stage' is a theater workshop where we will learn acting techniques by stepping in to character and performing in improvisations.  There will be a performance for friends and family on our last class.

Model Airplane Minicamp
August 20-24
Grades K-5 
The 'High-Flying Model Airplane Minicamp' takes you outside to see your gliders in motion and to fly your models.  You'll also learn to read plans, use metric rulers, make necessary calculations, and work with different hobby tools!
