Golfers Hitting Links at Quaker Ridge to Support Lymphoma Research

The Lymphoma Research Foundation will host its 2012 Golf Invitational at Quaker Ridge Golf Club in Scarsdale.

The golfers playing at on Monday will be putting for a cause.

The Lymphoma Research Foundation is holding its annual Golf Invitational at the on May 21.

This is the first time the event is being held at the club.

"Prior to this year the event has changed locations each year, but since this year’s event is doing so well, it has already raised more than $200,000, the plan is to make it an annual invitational event in Scarsdale at the Quaker Ridge Golf Club," Peggy Ann Torney, senior manager of public affairs at the Lymphoma Research Foundation, said.

The event, sponsored by Prince Family Foundation, Stern Family Philanthropic Foundation, Affinia Group and Nathan Gantcher, begins at 10:45 a.m. and ends at 6:00 p.m. It includes brunch, golf, a cocktail hour and dinner.

The invitational will generate support for the Lymphoma Research Foundation, whose mission is to "to eradicate lymphoma and serve those touched by the disease," Torney said.

The cost for a foursome is $6,000 and the cost for a tournament sponsor  is $10,000. All proceeds benefit the Lympohma Research Foundation.
