Scarsdale Teen Selling Handmade Jewelry To Help Animals

The teen and animal lover is selling her crafts to assist an animal shelter.

If you spot Erin McGovern in Scarsdale Village, be sure to stop.

Often, the 15-year-old student is sitting on a bench by the village center shops, stringing colored beads and jewels.

The youngster is trying to raise money for the Danbury Animal Welfare Society, a cause close to the animal lover's heart.

The teen's art teacher volunteers there and she was inspired to help.

"Every chance I get," the teen is out selling her handmade bracelets and necklaces after school around Scarsdale, she said, as she sat outside of on a sunny afternoon.

Her goal is to raise $100 to donate to the shelter, she said.
