VIDEO: Rescued Puppies Arrive At SPCA

Dozens of puppies from a high-kill Mississipi shelter made their way to Briarcliff Manor Sunday.

The 's parking lot was overcome yesterday with more than 60 happy, rambunctious, nervous, and most of all, grateful puppies who traveled to the Briarcliff Manor-based non-profit organization from a high-kill Mississipi shelter.

The puppies are heading off to foster homes and will be up for adoption on Saturday, July 21, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

To adopt a puppy or dog rescued from a high-kill shelter at the SPCA of Westchester, you must complete an application and pay a $325 fee. All dogs must be spayed/neutered. They all receive microchips and vaccinations. Visit the SPCA website for additional information and to view the available puppies.

If this is happening in a community like Scarsdale, then as a taxpayer I am irritated. Where are allRead More the taxes going if teachers are paying for their own classroom supplies? There has to be some degree of accountability regarding our tax dollars. We are the highest-taxed county in the nation and we can't afford notebooks and post-it notes? As a community member, I am not going to "lend a hand." I already do that with my tax dollars.
