Westchester Jewish Council Set To Honor 18 Community Leaders

17th Annual Julian Y. Bernstein Distinguished Service Awards presented May 16

The is set to honor 18 Wechester leaders at its 36th Annual Meeting and the presentation of the 17th Annual Julian Y. Bernstein Distinguished Service Awards on Wednesday, May 16, at 7:30 p.m. at the JCC of Harrison.

This event, which is free and open to all, will include something of interest for everyone:

  • The Westchester County Executive will install the new board members of the Council.
  • Community leaders from 18 WJC member organizations will receive Julian Y. Bernstein Distinguished Service awards in recognition for a job well done.
  • Ron Burton will give a "State of the Council" report.
  • And, the evening with include a kosher dessert reception complete with Ben and Jerry's ice cream.

The Julian Y. Bernstein Distinguished Service Award is named after Julian
Y. Bernstein (z”l), a former Westchester Jewish Council board member, who
was a visionary communal leader. In tribute to his passion and devotion to
the Jewish community, the council honors those who follow in his footsteps.
